What we get called for most

Three jobs account for most of the calls, and each is a different kind of problem. Rodents arrive with the first hard cold and are a sealing problem as much as a treatment one. Carpenter ants show up in spring and are usually a moisture problem in timber a gutter or a window seal has been wetting. Ticks are a yard problem rather than a house problem, and the treatment follows the edge of the property rather than the building. The other ten are listed under services, and the menu above jumps straight to any of them.

What happens when you call

1. Inspect first. The room you noticed the problem in is usually not the room the problem lives in.
2. Treat what is there, with the method the problem actually calls for.
3. Close the way in. Sealing is what stops you paying for the same job every year.
4. Write it down. Every visit produces a record of what was found, what was applied and what is recommended — including work that belongs to another trade.

Exclusion, which is where we are most useful

Treatment kills what is inside the building today. Sealing decides whether you are making this call again next autumn. Most of the rodent work here ends with a list of gaps — a dryer vent, a sill plate, a gap behind a bulkhead — and the quote prices that separately so you can do it now or do it later with your eyes open.

Where we work

Southern and central Maine: Androscoggin County, Cumberland County, Kennebec County, Oxford County, Sagadahoc County, Franklin County. Up to about 1.5 hours from Lewiston for routine work, further for larger or commercial jobs. Call and ask about your town — if it is outside the area we cover we will say so rather than booking it.

When we are busiest, and when we are not

Tick work runs monthly from April into the autumn adult peak in October; mosquito work runs April to September. Rodent work peaks with the first hard cold, and exclusion done before the cold reduces what the winter brings in. Outside tick season is a good time to have the building sealed properly.
